As a church we need to talk about money for three reasons.

Firstly, as a PCC we would like to thank our members for all the time and energy you give to the church and thank you for all your financial support without which we wouldn’t survive.

Secondly, if we are worshipping members of the church community we ned to think about it because giving (not just to church) reflects God’s generosity.

Finally, we need to think about it because as your local church, we need financial resources as we are not subsidised from anywhere. We need to raise around £950 / week for the church and its ministries to continue.   The Responsibility is ours: it is our church, our challenge our choice as to the future of the church

Its not our style to focus too much on finances, but we would ask you to think about giving from two perspectives

Either if you see yourself as a friend of the church, how do you view the place of the Church in the Village?  Could there be times, happy and sad, that you may feel you need the church?  If these questions make you want to support the church:  Here is what you can do to help: assist in maintenance and social events, contribute to the cost of the upkeep of this lovely Grade 1 listed building and graveyard and consider joining the congregation as a regular member - who knows you may even enjoy it!

Or, as a worshipper our giving needs to be
Regular – consider joining a planned giving scheme
Realistic – think about how big a fiver looks when giving away compared to when you are shopping
Related to what we receive.

Whichever the case, we would like to ask you to
Think about all God’s blessed you with
Decide what’s right for you
Enjoy what you have and
Be generous wherever you choose to give.

Questions about money and the Church of England

it always helps the family if a will has been made. For nearly 500 years the Church of England has encouraged people to make a will. This is to make sure that your wishes are carried out.

Reviewing it periodically will enable you to modify your will as your wishes change - for example, as children or grandchildren come into the family, or as your church or favourite charities change.  For more information please see
